I really enjoyed the time travel aspect of the book and the different perspectives it provides.

I have always been drawn to stories of time travel. There’s something magical about connecting the past and present. I knew the book was being adapted for Hulu, but I wanted to read the book first. Wow, am I glad I did. I couldn’t it down!!!

Kindred was actually written in the late 1970’s, but the modern part of the story felt quite contemporary. The story was fast-paced and exciting. The past part takes place on a plantation during the Antebellum period. It takes an interesting look at how people “in their time” could come to accept the horrific behaviors and beliefs that were common then. At its heart, the book is exciting, heartbreaking, and courageous. Highly recommended!!
