I'm not typically a reader of nonfiction. I usually struggle to stay engaged, but not with this book. I love nature and this book makes me want to do all I can to nurture and save it even more. The author is both informed and humorous, while also portraying the darkness that can be found in nature and especially humanity. She balances things well in what is definitely a love letter to nature and all it can teach us!

The book reminded me of Seed to Dust. I appreciated the reflections on nature and the beautiful pictures. It’s a good reminder to go outside and pay attention to the natural world. It has religious undercurrents.
