I wanted to like this book. It was well-written, and moved too slowly for my interest. I listened it, so did not have access to the illustrations so many readers referenced.

I found it boring, and did not care for the narration. Tried to speed it up which helped the listening, but not the content. I wanted something informational, this was not it.

I really wanted to love this book.

I’m not sure if it’s the author’s grating voice on the audiobook, her IMPOSSIBLY slow pace of speech, or her self-indulgent tangents, but this one was hard to finish.
 
There are definitely some nice moments in here. Maybe other folks will find it tender and personal instead of cloying?
