This was my favorite short story of 2022, and an utter delight to read. What starts as a joyous, soothing premise - baking for a way station of souls in the afterlife - turns into something much deeper, and as rich as German chocolate cake. A must read for bakers, the ponderous, and fans of fantasy alike.
