the book was a little difficult to get into. however, after the 1/3 mark i ended up really enjoying how it discussed generational trauma. i also began to relate to Yetu once I got to understand her character past just being in pain and tired.

I really enjoyed this book, enjoyed the concept behind it and enjoyed Daveed Diggs audiobook reading. When it ended I was a bit butthurt it was so short, but once I finished the afterwards I understood why. The Deep is a fascinating story about survival, generational trauma, and how myths change and grow.
