That song Torn Between Two Lovers or whatever it's called kept playing in my head while I read this. It's cheesy and predictable but I liked it.

This was the book that got me out of my reading slump...again. I love contemporary stories to help spark my love for reading again and boy this did the trick. The character of Lucy is one that you cannot help but root for. I wanted her to be happy. I wanted her to have the perfect life. IDK I just found myself being her biggest cheerleader.

At times this book made me wanna throw up at how clique it was but other times I was physically "AWWWWWWing" and scaring the fur off my cat LOL. I waited 200+ pages for Lucy to get the life she wanted and somehow they were able to wrap it all up in a nice bow within like 20 pages...???

Nonetheless...ITS A FOUR STAR BOOK from me. I do believe I will have to pick up another book by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski before the years end!

Pretty damn close to perfect.

Picked up this book because I was interested in the whole jersey shore local and Benny relationship idea. As someone from the shore and remember hurricane Sandy, it was kind of interesting seeing how the story was centered around it and how it affected not only Lucy and Connor's relationship but also Lucy with her home in Seaside. This brought back memories of Sandy and how I felt seeing the damage. Anyway, the story was not bad. I got a little lost when Lucy switched from reminiscing memories to the present. I got annoyed with the whole miscommunication with Connor, Liam, and her friends. But I guess that comes with the age they characters are in?? I did like the family aspect and how Liam and Lucy rebuilt their relationship. It seemed rushed and honestly everything towards the end was rushed, but the ending was wholesome. Kind of wish I got more of Connor and Lucy at the end but at least it's a HEA.

I loved so much about this book, especially Lucy and the New Jersey setting!

OMG HE ACTUALLY CALLED BUT SHE DIDN'T GET THE MESSAGE! HE ACTUALLY LIKED HER! Super cute, Connor and Lucy.

Towards the beginning I was really unsure whether or not I would enjoy this, but I did enjoy it in the end.

I read this book as what I call an in between book. An easy to read, lighthearted book that is read between books that require more brain cells to understand. For me, this book served its purpose.

The story is very sweet, although I am definitely older than the target audience. There is lots of character growth which left me feeling quite content.

I’ll keep this one for my daughter when she is a little older!
