An interesting read for sure, but might be too intense for some. However, it is a good alternative to watching the movie and supporting a pedophile.

*spoilers ahead* *although if you haven't been spoiled on this story yet and you are thinking about reading this, i am both surprised and jealous*
It's difficult to rate this book because while there is no really ~scary~ element to the writing at all, I found myself upset at the horror of being imprisoned in my home, body, and marriage to give birth for a purpose I did not consent to/support. That was the main feeling that I had throughout reading this.
It's crazy how Roman Polanski made a movie adaptation so insanely close to the book; it's almost an exact copy both in plot and feel. I have to say that I preferred the movie, though, especially for the ending. There is no way that the medium of a novel could have given us the iconic scene at the end of the movie where we do not see the baby but only see Rosemary's horrified expression when she sees him. Props to Ira Levin for coming up with such a cool story, but I think this one just worked better as a movie.
