Five Star Weekend was only 3⭐️ for me. The story felt overly dramatic, and honestly, I found most of the women pretty insufferable. There were way too many subplots flying around, and it was hard to care about any of them when everything felt so over the top. The best part by far were the flashbacks showing how each woman was connected to Hollis. Those were actually touching and gave the story some emotional grounding.
Overall, it just felt like this was geared toward a very specific audience (middle-aged white women who love a good group therapy session in Nantucket), and I couldn’t really connect with it. Not terrible, just not for me.

Honestly this was super enjoyable. The characters are kinda silly and at times very out of touch, and the book is probably longer than it needs to be, but I had a lot of fun with it. I love getting to know a group of ladies intimately and have every person fit into a distinct role in the group. There’s a hefty touch of drama and a really lovely backdrop for the story to take place on. Makes me wanna crack open some rose and hang out with my girlfriends, which is a perfect summer read in my book!
