Five Stars - aka your best friends from 5 different stages of life. Seven months after her husband passes away, social-media famous Hollis Shaw decides to gather her “five stars” for a weekend at her summer home on Nantucket. I enjoyed the nostalgic flashes back to the origin story of each friendship, as well as the root of some of the conflicts among the women. The meticulously-planned weekend comes at the right time as each woman finds herself needing camaraderie and joy. But the long-buried or always-hidden conflicts inevitably bubble up between heavy cocktails and high emotions…

One of the conflicts wrapped up in a much-too-pretty bow, with a very implausible reaction and tidy resolution. Besides that part of the ending, I thoroughly enjoyed this virtual trip to Nantucket!

Might be my favorite Elin Hilderbrand book yet. The Nantucket. The female friendship. The layers. The way it unraveled. My only issues was the Gigi and Hollis ending, tbh I wanted more there. Highly recommend!!
