This quickly became one of the best thrillers I’ve ever read! The characters brought so much humor, the twists completely caught me off guard, and I have to say it… GRANDMA absolutely stole the show 🤣.
What impressed me most was the writing style. The podcast woven into the narrative felt so unique and refreshing, and it made the whole story even more immersive.
I tore through this book because I truly could not put it down. If you love thrillers with clever storytelling, engaging characters, and plenty of surprises, this one is a must-read!

Really liked this one! It was unique, in the sense that the author impressively pulled off humor in this cold-case thriller. It was very intriguing to follow along with Lucy while she worked with Ben to regain memories of her best friend’s murder. The audiobook was surprisingly really exciting to listen to (I typically don’t love fiction audiobooks because the character voices are really annoying) but the cast did great and it really added to the podcast component! I was guessing until the end, with some correct suspicions, but the reveal was still entertaining and wrapped the book up quite well.

The only thing was that I felt the ending was a little rushed and one of the last remarks from Lucy to Beverly confused me a little bit, like I might’ve missed something important at some point.

I wish that there had been a little bit more character development, but I enjoyed hkw twisty this was, as well as the fact that it didn't feel like the same old podcast mystery novel. I think that the book also alludes to several challenging and nuanced topics rather well, including but not limited to, domestic violence, toxic masculinity, and assumptions about others' lives.

Very fun, especially on audio. As with many thrillers, this one is filled with unlikeable characters and some seriously dysfunctional relationships, and yet it works. I waffles between liking Lucy and rooting for her and seriously questioning her stability and trustworthiness. Nevertheless, I was very curious to find out what happened to her and Savvy. I think Lucy’s grandmother was my favorite character— what a hoot! I did feel the “romance” side story was unnecessary and may have even detracted from the story a bit. Overall though, a highly entertaining read/listen.
