This one definitely kept me guessing all the way through. I wasn't sure I was going to like the podcast interjections every few chapters, but I thought this was well done and didn't make the story feel choppy. We did find out a lot of information/clues being revealed throughout the podcasts. I suspected nearly every character throughout this book 😂 I did feel bad for Lucy because literally everyone suspected her and there wasn't really anyone that thought she was innocent. How difficult to grieve the loss of your best friend when everyone thinks you murdered her.

4.5 stars. It's been too long since I read a mystery/thriller that felt new and distinct. Highly recommend!
Lucy is a really strong narrator, and between her and Grandma Beverly this book sticks the dark comedy.
There are constant questions and the ambiguity manages to land as intriguing instead of frustrating.
I felt that some of the interpersonal relationships between characters took away from the narrative more than they added, but not so much as to ruin the book. Same goes for the number of times we have to hear about sweat trickling down backs.
Overall, it's a fun journey to go along on with Lucy - worth noting it's one of those mysteries where we're discovering things with her rather than piecing it together ourselves.
