I ended up liking Axel a lot more than I thought I would but I felt that Rooney's character development was underwhelming especially by the end.

This book covers Axel Bergman, and  Rooney. We know Rooney as Willa’s roommate in college, and in this book we learn she has a chronic illness. During Willa’s book we see Rooney as active and happy, playing college soccer, and in this book her chronic illness is coming out of a flare, which has left her a bit weak and still feeling occasionally sick. This flare and how it has affected her life currently, and her relationship with Axel, is the focus of the book. I wish we had gotten to see more of her progress out of the flare - it’s very briefly mentioned toward the end of the book that she gained some strength back, but we don’t get to read anything about her choice of what direction to take her life in. I feel left hanging. That whole ending made me feel left hanging, like it was rushed. Still a good book, will continue to read the series.

Thank you to NetGalley & Chloe Liese for the opportunity to read and review this book before it's publication date! This in no way affected my review, opinions are my own.

It's hard to go wrong with the Bergman series, and With You Forever proves it as another installment in this interconnected world. While it can be read as a standalone, I think it hits you hardest if you've read the previous Bergman novels (Only When It's Us, Always Only You, and Ever After Always).

I was so excited to get Axel & Rooney's story, and this DID NOT disappoint. Full of really beautiful moments that make you feel so much for each of these characters - AND it's a marriage of convenience?? Hello?? The best trope???

Don't think I'll ever stop recommending this series to people looking for great contemporary romances with a lot of real-ness and a lot of heart!
