This was interesting and kept my attention. I wish the plot had been tightened up a bit and I wish the main character hadn't been so "I'm not like other girls." There were some holes in the story and the logic. But overall it was a solid read.

This book was definitely a whirlwind of emotions! Trying to understand what is happening with Neve was great and the interactions she had with all of the other characters was pretty cool as well. Gretchen McNeil can write an amazing murder plot! I really enjoyed the fact that they brought in Alfred Hitchcock books into the plot. While I did enjoy the book, I feel like over all I just couldn’t get behind how the plot unfolded.

Thank you to NetGalley and Disney for the ARC of this book in exchange for a review.

I really wanted to like this more than I did. The book opens with an interesting premise and a big question in the air, so I assumed as it went forward, it would keep with the pace and reveal. However, as it moved forward, I found myself less engaged and more annoyed with the characters than anything else.

I really wanted to like Neve, but I didn't. I just was not able to connect with her, which is why it was harder to stay on board as the plot moved forward. The rest of the characters were not much better either. It felt as if the author didn't understand each enough to have them well developed and solidified in the story.

I also felt like there were a lot of plot holes. Things would take place and I'd be looking back to see what I may have missed or not understood, but was never able to clear it up. I don't want to go into too many specifics as it is a thriller, but I felt it wasn't well developed.

Overall, this is just a meh reading for me. More of a 2.5 than a 3, but the beginning made me round up.

I received a free audio version of this book thanks to NetGalley. The book started out like any good YA book does, and so I thought maybe I was confused by the title. The main character was kind of unlikeable, but in that way that is just a semi self centered teenager - so that was fine. Once the story really got going though...it was fast-paced and kept me interested. But I also found that...once I put it down, I wasn't in a huge hurry to pick it back up. There were portions of back story that were alluded to a lot, but were never really fully explained - and they were interesting, so I wish they had been more front and center. Portions of the story were just a little too hard to believe plausible, hence the three star rating. But, I would totally still put it on my classroom shelves. I think a lot of kids would really enjoy it.

I was excited to read this one because it sounded like something I would absolutely love. But somehow this just did not work for me. The characters felt flat, the plot never grabbed me. The beginning moved so slow I wasn't sure what the plot even was. Once at the camp, it just never picked up and got moving. I wish I'd liked this one.

A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Edelweiss. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

Every time I read the synopsis of the next Gretchen McNeil book, I get excited. Especially this one.
Dig Two Graves is about Neve and Diane, who meet at camp and joke about "getting rid" of the bad people in their lives. Until Neve's former best friend is murdered and Neve receives a text saying, "your turn."
Y'ALL. That alone had me so excited to read this and I was not disappointed. It was twisty and fun and I loved it.
