ugh. this is the one. what a journey Makoto-sensei has brought us on.. i was choked up a few times in this book.
some stories, often times popular stories, go on and on, without any discernible direction.. and these days i tend to shy away from that.
rarely you'll find a story that presents itself genuinely and proudly. Vinland Saga told you from the start: this is a traditional epic tale, prologue and everything. and again, to reach this point in the saga.. just wow.
i think we will get 2-3 more books but getting to the last page of this book, my heart was full.

I'm just in complete awe of this series and its author. Makoto Yukimura has such enormous empathy for his characters and a keen grasp of the themes he writes about. Thorfinn's redemption was handled with thoughtfulness and care; the author made him go through all the grueling work and painful self-reflection that is necessary for real change. And it's truly been such a joy to watch this unfold across these many years of publication. Vinland Saga is a story that respects and rewards the reader's patience. 

I'm going to be so sad when this series ends. I really hope the author sticks the landing... I really, really, do, but even if he somehow doesn't (I've been burned by too many manga endings), we'll still have gotten something phenomenal.

Vinland Sagaa pitkään seuranneelle kirjan lopetus oli valtavaa tunteiden vuoristorataa. Huh, mitä hahmokaaria Yukimura kirjoittaakaan. 

Enpä muuten olisi vuosia sitten uskonut että näen (...luen?) päivän jolloin

Thorfinn todella päätyy Vinlandiin. Jotenkin aina ajattelin sen olevan myyttinen tarinan päätepiste jossain hamassa tulevaisuudessa.
