there were a lot of twists in this book for how short it was. i also liked how ambiguous the ending was. it fit with the strange nature of the story.

Such a short story but it held my interest!!

Nice, quick read

I’m glad this was a short story. I usually like the twist with women and the little boy just threw me off. This doesn’t seem on par with Flynn’s usual vibes.

This started out really good. Gillian Flynn has such a voice for strong, female characters. I was hooked right away. The middle is where it really took off. And the 'twist' that she always has was good except she had a second twist that I wasn't quite as big of a fan of. So therefore, the ending was a bit of a letdown. Not nearly as unnerving and creepy as I'd hoped for. The middle made it seem creepy and possibly dealing with demonic possession or haunted house or what? But then the twist happened and it kind of let it all down. Still good, quick read though.
