"The Grownup" was originally part of a short story collection, and would probably feel more satisfying in that context than as a one-off. I'd still say that I'll read anything Gillian Flynn cares to write, but this was just OK, not spectacular.

Wow.
I’ve officially read all of Gillian Flynn’s writing.
I was worried this wouldn’t be as memorable as her others, with it being short. I was wrong! This may even my favorite.
