Didn’t realize this was a short book before i started listening to it. loved the beginning, got my attention quick and was disappointed it was over so soon to say the least but overall a quick and interesting book

Fun, twisty short story :)

Fun and unexpected and it made me want more Gillian Flynn!

When will I learn that Gillian Flynn books have no ending and tick me off? I loved her three novels, but all had open endings. This story had no ending! I read for almost two hours straight to find out what happened to the main character and I don't have an answer. The plot and twist were interesting, but the story does not feel complete to me.

It liked it well enough. It was a good short story. Unfortunately, the length wasn't sufficient for a story like the ones which Gillian Flynn is famed. It was too short that the plot could only be linear and suspense could not be built effectively. However, I did like the narrator. She was honest and smart, perceptive and flawed, ambitious and insecure. I did not like the stepson too much. His character seemed to be everywhere (and too good in everything). I like that it has an open ending but I also don't like that (in my opinion) nothing really got solved. This is a good start to a full-length novel but maybe not a stand-alone short story.

Oh my god. This was so creepy. Awesome, but creepy as hell too.
dark mysterious tense fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Gillian Flynn always takes me by surprise––again, and again, and again within a single story. I loved it. Will probably be staying away from dark corners where other people are though for a while. XD
It's a short read –– listened to the audiobook as I went through my day, finished it by the time I was done cooking dinner.

#readharder challenge for a book read in one sitting. Immediately following a 700-pager, this felt almost too small, but Flynn is gifted enough that every bit of creepy feeling was squose into jut 62 pages. I felt almost naughty reading it just before going to bed. I was sure I’d have nightmares (didn’t).

A pretend psychic cons her way into helping a lonely, affluent woman with her haunted house. Or does she? Short, compelling, darkly-funny read with a final twist I didn’t see coming.
