The death of a celebrity chef brings together his two ex-wives, current wife, children and friend for a weekend in Nantucket. Personal and family problems in abundance in a beautiful, beachy setting.

Even for a beach read, this book didn’t have much of a plot. It dragged on and on, but not much happened. It wasted time on situations that didn’t matter, and did t flesh out the ones that did matter enough. Many of the characters were unlikable, though there was some last-minute character growth that partially made up for it.

3.5. I loved the alternating POVs more than I loved the overall story itself. This was less about the 3 women than it was the people in their lives, especially Deacon Thorpe.
