"i’m still learning that my body / is not the enemy i’ve always / thought it to be."

Girl Made of Glass is a stunning poetry collection covering everything from insecurity to mental health and masterfully weaving them together to reflect and learn from the moments we feel define our pasts.

I adored this collection! I thought it was so well done, and it being the first collection by Shelby Leigh that I've had the pleasure of reading made me want to immediately go pick up her first two. Split into four parts, each really stands strong and I don't feel like there was a weak poem or line out of place! I've read a lot of poetry collections that ebb and flow, but each poem seamlessly blended into the next and tackled the theme of the section well. I think my favorites overall were 'the nightmares' and 'the enchantment.'

I'm excited to read more by this poet! I think her voice is amazing and I can already feel myself excited to explore her older work.

Thank you to NetGalley and Central Avenue Publishing for providing me with a copy for an honest review!
