I'm glowing in the Caribbean sunshine. How I wish I were on that cruise. This book took me on a ride that I thoroughly relished. The vivid depictions, the ass-whooping and omg, the banter between Eliana and David was to die for!

This is my first vacation theme romance, and it was so much fun to read. The slow burn is perfect, the tension between the main characters, Eliana and David, is sizzling, and how could I forget that the characters both have Caribbean backgrounds.

The author's writing is terrific because Ms. K Thomas transported me to various islands in the Caribbean sea, which I loved. She made me homesick in a great way

Another enjoyable romance read with a Billionaire with a heart of gold. Really loved Eliana and David. Their personalities played off of each other very well and I LOVED the banter between them especially in the beginning. The story isn’t just a simple romance but had conversations about really deep topics including alcoholism, SA and dealing with past trauma. The characters felt real, compelling and complex. I really enjoyed how well fleshed out the characters were. Looking forward to book 3. Tropes included grumpy/sunshine in reverse, he falls first and a hint of instalove/fated mates.

ARC REVIEW - I found Karen on TikTok when she commented on one of my videos, and I went straight to Amazon and bought her first book, the Billionaire’s Siren. While this is not my normal genre, I absolutely fell in love with Shelby and Ben. This story was SO.MUCH.BETTER! Eliana is such a strong woman, and she is so reserved (understandably so). David is the “wild child” who is also insanely rich, smart and oh so sexy. Their relationship is absolutely adorable and I love both of their character growth throughout the story. There are some triggering conversations in this book, so please check your triggers. The author did an incredible job including Jamaican heritage and culture and I was very excited to learn new things. I am SO excited to see Mina’s story next!

“’ One day, your Phoenix will meet its Dragon. You will reject him, but you will have to forgive his transgressions. Only then will you have peace.’” -The Billionaire’s Phoenix

Eliana Gonzales devoted her adulthood to teaching women how to defend themselves. Having survived a traumatic experience herself, Eliana had all but written men off. She was twenty-six and had not been in a meaningful relationship since high school, keeping occupied with self-defense classes and her love of fashion design, alienating her family and friends. Eliana didn’t know it, but by accepting an invite to vacation with her sister and friend on the Sapphire Siren of the Seas Cruise Ship, her whole life was about to change. Cue, David Maddix, a self-assured, rich, daredevil, businessman, whom Eliana had no patience for.

This is the second book in the Sapphire Siren of the Seas Cruise Ship Vacation Romance series, having concerns about starting this book because I hadn’t read the first, I started anyway. The Billionaire’s Phoenix does a terrific job at being a standalone novel. I did not feel lost at all when it came to the storyline and characters, and even found myself forgetting that this was the second book of a series. I am an absolute sucker for saucy snarky banter between the main characters, K. Thomas did a brilliant job at accomplishing this within the book. I not only found myself smiling while reading but there were parts of the book that had me laughing out loud. The romantic spice was a perfect amount and did not overshadow the storyline. The author does a master-class job giving you whiplash from the rollercoaster of emotions Eliana experiences.

I give this novel 4 stars and would recommend this read to those 18+ who love a good cat and mouse romantic read with a little bit of spice.
