I like omegaverse so this gets bumped up over a 3.
The 3rd act breakup and the ending felt a bit too "is that really how it would happen" for me to give it a better rating.

  • An ungodly amount of sex scenes (would it be so hard to market these kinds of books as erotic romance? I'm just saying that was A LOT and I would've liked a warning)
  • The blackmail. I do not care if this is a spoiler, I think everyone who thinks about reading this book should know about it. You could smell it coming from a mile away (=not skillfully interwoven into the story so that there's still a mystery around it and so that I won't think the characters are grade a stupid). The climax/ conflict that ensues (third act breakup) could've EASILY been avoided but alas the author just HAD to make me hate the characters and the book. So.
  • Let's get back to the erotic romance point. What if some of the side plot was shortened and the author actually chose to focus on the stupid/ cringe factor and the erotic aspect? I feel like this shouldn't have been a rom-com (in the pure sense), and if the book knew not to take itself so serious (which I felt was a problem here, like there was little self awareness of how dumb and cringe this shit actually was) it could've been better.

I really wanted to love this more. Some of the writing choices made it drop from a solid 4.0 (4.0 = recommended  and I will reread at some point). The premise was fun and I liked how the shifter stuff was part of this parallel Denver world of a hospital.

The cause of the third act breakup could have been more interesting as a couple activity to bond over and we could have seen a more plot-intriguing heist to navigate the work obstacles.

It felt slow to start.  I liked some of the humour (sarcasm noted by FMC made me lol).

But I got bored in the final third. I kept thinking of spicier omega verse stories that I want to revisit. If a book isn’t holding my attention, something is off.

I will read this author’s future books. But not sure I’ll re read this one.

This was a great book! I was a bit surprised about the plot (didn’t read the back of the book). I thought it would be a vet romance but yeah no 😂 definitely not what I was expecting but so good. I’d never read a book about shifters and omegas and alphas so it was definitely fun. The spice!!!!!!! OMG I had not seen that coming! It was so good. The relationship between Noah and Mack was wonderful, I truly enjoyed their relationship and their chemistry. It’s one of those books that you read as a palate cleanser with a good plot, it’s a fun, lighthearted book that will definitely make you giggle from time to time. I would re-read it if I need a fun book after a rough book. Would

The story was alright. Not a lot of depth to it. The whole concept of shifters, alphas and omegas is a bit unclear. I don't think certain aspects of their biology is fully explain, so I often don't understand the why of things. I feel like the author expects you to have background knowledge on these concepts instead of building them herself. The third act could have been entirely avoided had someone been willing to communicate.
