Matchmaker Cassandra Reynolds finds herself in need of a match of her own so she has a plus one to her estranged father's wedding. Enter Luke Dawson, who takes it upon himself to do the matchmaking. With a great mix of romance and family drama, there's never a dull moment.
I'm picky with romance. It's definitely a mood thing for me. I'm glad I gave this one a try because I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected not being in the zone for this genre at the moment. I'm glad that this is a series for when I am looking for a romance read sometime in the future. The writing style, especially with an overuse of euphemisms and cliches, wasn't my favorite, but the plot made up for a lot of it.

💭 some characters would really benefit from therapy, in general. cassandra, the main character, should be #1 on that list. i know it's a rom-com, supposed to be light hearted and fun, but if you're gonna insert deep conversations such as what was in this book, it'd be nice for therapy to be mentioned. idk about you but a dudes 🍆 isn't going to make me be "cured" from the trauma i endured.
💭 there's something about morgan elizabeth's male characters that i don't necessarily like .... their personality is fine. but i think it's the possessiveness, the "you're mine" attitude after meeting the female main character for 2 minutes. saw it in 'tis the season for revenge' also.
💭 in saying that though, i did like the book! those two things were just two big things that really stood out for me.

The emotional abuse, toxic relationship and infidelity all relate to the mc's parents, not the li!daisycantread24's review against another edition

There’s so many adorable and funny parts in this book l. But don’t let that fool you. Cinnamon bun like is a hot dirty talker. 🥵
There were a few editing errors toward the end (pov switch’s for a sentence, and wrong character name in a spot) but those are 30 second fixes and wasn’t a huge issue.
I also saw a TikTok of the guy working on the audiobook as I started reading and I definitely want to listen to this when it’s available.
