What can I say? This book was so enticing and I simply couldn’t put it down!
This is the first book that I have read where I haven’t guessed the ending. I’ve been yearning for a boon that isn’t predictable.
I somewhat knew that the husband was bad news from the start. The way he was so demanding about Laura cooking and just his personality was off putting. But when the character Mia was evolved, just wow.

This book is very clever. When you have fully read it, it makes you think back to what you’ve already read. I found myself gasping a lot at the end of it, going “omg of course, that makes so much sense!!”
Would totally recommend! 👏

3.5 stars. I did enjoy this book but I wish it would have been scarier. Also, the twists were good but not entirely unique which I know is pretty standard in the thriller genre but I was a little disappointed in this book and think it would have been better as a horror book. That’s just my opinion though and I think a lot of people would love this book if they like psychological thrillers!

4 solid stars!

Liam and Laura are newlyweds finally taking their postponed honeymoon on a remote island off the coast of Scotland. They have the whole island to themselves for seven days and it seems like the perfect romantic getaway. But Laura can't shake the feeling that she's being watched. She brushes it off thinking the tragic history of the island is just rattling her nerves but after a few strange occurrences, both Liam and Laura quickly realize they are not alone on the island and their romantic getaway turns into a struggle to survive.

This had me on the edge of my seat until the very last page! The setting was perfect and the general creep factor was just enough for me not to get bored. I enjoyed the storyline and trying to figure out who 'the stalker' is. I had one theory but once I reached the big reveal/twist, I was genuinely surprised and caught off guard. I had to stop and reread the last few pages. It was brilliant! There were some intense moments which I believe may be triggering to some readers but I'm not sure I can say what they are without hinting towards the ending of the story.

This would have been a 5 star read for me if it weren't for a couple of things. I feel like the pacing was a bit off, especially after the big twist. I understand the perspective had to shift but it just didn't match the tone of the first half of the story. Also, I will say that something was written before the reveal that I'm not sure if it was deliberate foreshadowing but I had brushed it off as a minor typo. But it did make me stop reading and backtrack for a moment. Nonetheless it was a fun and twisty ride and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Special thanks to Netgalley and Avon Books UK for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review. The Stalker is set to be published on July 8, 2021.

This was an alright thriller. I was actually scared in parts of the book. It kept my attention most of the time, I read it in a few days.
I knew that Liam/Ethan was somehow involved from pretty early on but I couldn’t pick how and was still surprised by the twist. I have two big issues. Firstly most of the story is told by Laura’s POV. She gave no indication to how she was really feeling even in her inner dialogue. I feel there could have been a bit more of her authentic thoughts without giving anything away. Secondly why was Liam’s reactions so mild on the island? He would beat her for no reason at home but when he’s on a secluded island he wouldn’t touch her when he would get frustrated with her? I understand that would have given the end away easier but it didn’t make sense.
Apart from the above I didn’t mind it.
