Great, but some empty speech bubbles? I’ve noticed that in a few recent releases, so I think the translation, typesetting, etc. staffs of a few English manga companies are potentially being rushed/overworked bc it’s always so clear that these translations are works of love of manga and care, and mistakes like these show stress points, rather than lacking skill or lacking care. Companies, please support your workers! We can wait an extra month or months so that workers aren’t overworked and can do the work they enjoy and are proud of!

The second volume of this cute demon-out-of-his-element story is more nuanced & funnier & I think the storytelling and characterization has hit a nice groove. Also, Gaap the demon is a fab, freaking hilarious addition. I found myself really feeling for Seere & his complicated emotions in regards to the young Sakura & the memory of her birth mother. I hope this series continues to get even better!

This volume had a little more conflict involved—especially when Gaap shows up. I liked that addition. There were several scenes that made me laugh out loud, like the scene where Seere calls Sakura’s response to his question of what she wants to eat “demonic”. I didn’t love the kind of flippant way that Gaap’s problem contract was done.

I'm not sure how I feel about the new character, but I'm still loving the series. It's sweet and a little funny and a little sad.
