The art alone would get five stars, and the story is just fabulous icing on the cake. Love, love, love!
Gorgeous artwork and an intriguing premise. Not sure it would have maintained my interest if I had to read issue-by-issue, but this compendium of the first 5 issues did a great job whetting my appetite for the rest.
Did I mention the artwork is gorgeous?

I'm not sure what I think about these stories.
They certainly tell a frighteningly good story, and the art is generally gorgeous.
But they're also exceedingly dark, with no easy answers.
Obviously I will continue to read them, but they are definitely rated MA.
(Also, I would have loved more about Luci.)

I really couldn't get into this at all. Pop stars as gods? Who cares?

Put gods in the modern world! Great concepts, and good character sketches, but by the end of this volume I did not care about anyone or want to spend any more time with them. It goes dark to go dark, tries to go sentimental or nostalgic, and it all ends up a bit of a muddle. I don't care about the mystery and I don't care about the angst. Art is pretty good, but sort of somber and muted and sober. People wear too much makeup-- makeup is deliberate artifice. If you are going to have the fantastic, it can be real, it doesn't need to look like makeup.
