It is a product of its time, but it is still a comforting read with a strong central character and lots of fun mythology.
Graphic: Physical abuse, Bullying, Violence, Sexism, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Pandemic/Epidemic, Medical trauma, Alcohol, Death, Medical content, Fire/Fire injury, and Slavery
Minor: Islamophobia and War
The ending has some dated ideas about the Middle East, and the discussions about gender are still in terms of a binary. Also, be aware of a scene involving menstruation.blissofalife's review against another edition

Quick read, not as much wit as I've come to enjoy in The Trickster's Choice but still enjoyable. I'll read the rest of the series, it's the kind of audio book you can put on in the background and if you tune out for a minute you won't miss anything. It was perfect for a day of cleaning! Like the other books I've read by this author, there was a "White Savior" aspect at the end. The ending felt rushed and there wasn't a lot of plot. The whole book felt like the introduction to a longer book.
Minor: Sexism, Racism, and War
