My 2nd time reading this with a bunch of reading buddies. So glad I did.
I’m starting from the beginning again & gonna work my way through as I haven’t read them all.
Harry Hole troubled though he may be is one of my fave guys.
Loved it. No arguments.

This was not your standard murder mystery and I really enjoyed the way Nesbo set up the storyline. The writing style contained a good amount of descriptive text without losing narrative momentum. A bit heavy on the sex for me, but not overwhelming. I will be starting Harry Hole's series from the beginning now. Extra points for the audiobook version: I love hearing the accents and correct pronunciation of non-English words and names.
The mystery was good and kept me guessing. Though, I didn't like that the main character was fallible in his theory, multiple times. It had the right amount of humor that kept me engaged. I plan to go back and read the first book in the series.
The Snowman shows how every single Harry Hole thriler is abosolutely brilliant, even if read out of order.
Grisly-ish Scandavian Police thriller. While it employs all the usual cliches of the genre, they're softened somewhat by setting, scenery and Norway's version of euro-liberalism.
