Not well written. None of the characters are appealing. The author thinks he's really something!

3.5⭐

Al inicio me costó meterme en la historia, pero cuando lo logré quedé enganchada. Me pareció fácil descubrir quién era el asesino, pero la forma en que el autor llega a él y cómo se van desarrollando los acontecimientos me gustó mucho.

SO GOOD!

I don't usually like serial killer novels and I still thought this was a masterfully written book and a good read. Only, like most serial killers, this one goes after women (no spoiler there). I grow tired of that. I have to wonder about the motives of a male author who kills off so many women.

I fell into a bit of a reading slump after starting this book. It was still a decent read...although I guessed the "surprise" well before it was revealed... don't know if that makes me insightful or if it makes Jo Nesbo predictable. I'll take a chance and read another of his books before deciding!

I just couldn't get into this book. Even now, I couldn't tell you anything about any of the characters. It was like teflon to me, so I ditched it. I have too many books to read to waste my time on anything that doesn't engage me right away.

I enjoyed the setting and the fast paced nature of the story, but I thought the killer was quite obvious and found all the red herrings thrown my way quite annoying.

I’d like to read more of the Harry Hole stories after this though.

If there is one criticism I have of Harry Hole novels is a wordy tendency towards lengthy pieces with a few too many red herrings, minor characters I can't keep track of, and backstories that make me yawn.

The Snowman was none of those things. Like other good Hole novels Snowman balances Harry's person life (for want of a better word) crime drama and personal tales. In fact I'm trying to decide whether this piece may be better than Phantom my current fav.

Entertaining throughout and constantly kept me guessing. Definitely would suggest for fans of the detective genre, but you must have a strong stomach. Nesbo is a good writer, however the book did drag here and there when he described minor subplots in the name of sex.

fairly engaging. intricate plot. definitely went in several different directions that I wasn’t expecting. I get why it’s as popular as it is, but it didn’t do much for me.
