I can't believe I am almost finished with the series. I am liking Maura's character a little more ... she is less needy in the later books.

Good ending

At first I was put off by the shifting points of view, but I am glad that I kept with it.

This is the 11th book in the Rizzoli and Isles series. While they can be read as stand alone books, there are some storylines that carry over from multiple books.
This book grabs you from the get go. You start off in Botswana, 6 years earlier, on a safari. Things seem ideal, fun, exciting even. Then the first person turns up dead.
Flash forward to modern day, Rizzoli and Frost have a bizzare case that involves a trophy hunter and a zoo. A taxidermist and a snow leopard. A skeleton and missing hikers all over the US. The thing is, what do they have in common?
After a rollercoaster of events you find out that the events in Botswana, 6 years earlier, are directly linked to the modern day ones.
Just not in I way you think.
Die Again is another masterfull story by Tess Gerritsen. Well written and compelling it will leave you guessing as to who actually emerged from that Safari alive and who didn't.

As a devoted fan of Tess Gerritsen's books, I've been eagerly anticipating the latest Rizzoli and Isles book. Overall, this is a solid addition to the series. I could not put it down at the end, and I was not able to predict the ending (the sign of a great mystery or thriller to me!). The only issue I had was with the stories outside the main mystery and crimes- I felt the issues with Dr. Isles and her mother were left too open, as well as the story line of Rizzoli's mother and father. However, as this is a series, I expect that these will be picked up again in the next installment. Review copy provided by Edelweiss and Netgalley.

Did I want to visit the Bush of the Delta before this? Absolutely not. I enjoy reality television and hipster vegan restaurants too much. Do I want to now? With large reservations, yes. If I die in in the extreme wilderness, blame Tess.

Good as usual. I especially liked the Botswana connection.

Maybe not one of my favorites of the series, but it was nice that they got to go to Africa. The heinousness of these crimes will blow you away. I have greatly enjoyed this series and would recommend it to anyone who likes medical thrillers, crime drama, cop procedural, or just books about strong female characters and friendships. It helps put you in the mind of hard working, professional women. I'm not only talking about the characters, but also the author.

Just okay - for some reason I found this a bit disappointing.

My favorite of all 11. Now, I'm really waiting for the next one.
