The Hate U Give is a entertaining story that draws you in mainly due to side character development and interactions between characters. This book may trigger people based on political biases and action during the book. The main female character Starr was slightly bland and at times a bit frustrating but they really captured that a main character isn't always perfect since Starr is a teenager. I love analyzing the author's opinions and perspective of protests vs. riots.
Not like the stuff I usually read but I loved this. It gave me an insight into things I wasn't fully aware of and I'm glad I read it at a young age
