Ok... So I did the unthinkable and watched the show before the book! When the show came out on Amazon, I had no idea it was even a book. Of course once I found out, I wanted to read the books! So that what got me here with writing this review.

Overall, the book and the movie really stick together for the most part. Of course there are always more details in the book than when you watch something. So the book really put together any gaps for me and also made me realize some new things I didn't know from the show!

This was such a cute and comforting book to read. I absolutely cannot wait to dive into book 2!

If you are looking for a high-level overview:

This is a sweet teen romance, and I really enjoyed it. I liked all the characters and could envision being in a summer house on the beach with them. The MC, Belly, of course has fits of immaturity - she’s 15. I thought her growth was realistic.

I really like that the love interest options are all viable in different ways, instead of having the one obvious choice and one or two meh characters. I would have gone a different route but wasn’t at all surprised by the boy she ended up with in this book.

Very sweet, a little sad, but overall, a fun teen read.

If we leave the ending out, it’s such a cute book. It’s very YA so it’s not heavy. It’s cute, I listened to it on my walks. If for some reason you do, If you leave it for months and pick it up again it’s not hard to catch up. It was cute

If you’re looking for a lighthearted and easy read, this is your book. If you’re looking for literally anything else, this isn’t your book lol
