I'm gonna give this 4.5 stars. I loved this book. I also kind of blew threw it and DID NOT feel like it was 800 pages. This lady's writing is so descriptive I felt like I was watching a movie the whole time. Sometimes I don't picture every single room or person or retail in a book, but I most definitely did with this book. Love.

it is 3:53 am and i am sobbing. review later.
edit: it is largely hozier’s tweet:
“Oh yeah things are shitty all over but that lingering 20 year knowledge of your old childhood friend's land-line number can only be credited to love's enduring nature.” truly.
theodore decker is an endlessly fascinating character and donna tartt is one of the best authors i’ve had the honor of encountering. it IS an honor to love what death doesn’t touch <3

I liked the overall premise of the book, but the last 10ish pages killed me to read. It was rambly I had to skim/skip. Overall, I enjoyed it though!
