Significantly better than Assassin’s Blade! I’m so glad I read it first, because seeing how much being in Endovier helped Celaena grow was great. Also, while I think many love triangles are contrived, I loved everything about Dorian / Celaena / Chaol. So excited for this series now!

I love this. I can't wait to read more about every last one of these characters. Hell, I even loved the love triangle, and normally I find it a lazy, overused and poorly executed story element.
This was a DNF for me. My friends tell me the rest of the series gets better, so I'll maybe power through later. I did like the worldbuilding! It had a great set of imaginative ideas in the fantasy realms and how they fit together.
