This book was good! I didn't expect it to like it much but I had heard great things so I gave it a try. I think that the book is well written and the development of the characters is there. It took me a little bit to get into it but it started to pick up around the middle part. I think that the book is a bit long but it doesn't loose it hook throughout it so I think it's fine. It was very easy for me to like both Pike and Jordan and their relationship. As individual characters I believe they are great. I think Jordan is a bad**s woman that will do anything and everything no matter how complicated life gets and I think that is such a great way to make a female main character. I love an independant, knows what she wants female main character and Jordan was that. Pike was also a wonderful character, very easily loveable. I think his character is very well rounded especially in the fatherhood aspect because his struggles through that part of his live are obvious. It was a good book and I would re-read it.

The age gap challenged me a bit. I overall liked it though. It was well written. Hot spicy scenes though!

“Birthday wishes don’t always come true, so I don’t waste a chance when I blow out a candle.”

It was a fun read (or listen since I've done this in audiobook) and actually a good slow burn book. It was a first for me to read a romance between an ex-boyfriend's dad who is around 35-40s and a girl who is only just entered her twenties. It's a huge age gap, which I usually mind but for some reason, not in this book. I actually like how they initially started, even after knowing it's their boyfriend/son who is the connection between them both. I was pretty much invested half-way through and when they've gotten together. The last 2 hours of the book was kind of a blur for me, but mostly my fault since I was out shopping for books (lol) so I wasn't able to focus but maybe sometime, when I feel like it, I'll come back and listen with more focus on the last few chapters. I'm still pretty iffy on the reconciliation between Pike and his son, so I really need to re-listen to it.

When I first bought it, I didn’t know if I’d like this book because of the age gap, but I absolutely loved it. I loved Pike (except for his weird overprotectiveness) and I was really invested in the characters and the plot. The writing was great, and I loved the dual POVs. Jordan and Pike had a real connection and definitely stayed together after the epilogue.
