Emily Rath you beautiful soul. The plus size rep, the dyslexia rep, the golden retriever energy, the older FMC, all of it was just chef's kiss.

Mild spoilers~

I didn't adore how long Tess went not just sharing about her ex so that her friends could help her, but I suppose that's what happens when you're a bit detached thanks to trauma. :)

All in all I loved it, and can't wait for the sequel!

I really like this book

This is really good, and I can't wait to read more this author and finish the series If you don't want to see what the make set of characters has in store for them.

I previously Dnf the ebook but saw the audio on Libby and decided to give it another short. Made it 40% of the way through then realized there was still 10.5hrs left and didn’t care enough to keep listening.

The fmc is not the strong junior partner you’d expect. She’s a bit of a let down and whiny. I also feel like we didn’t really see why the main characters like each other. There don’t seem to be enough moments aside from when they’re awkwardly intruding and n each other.

I didn’t read the first book in the series and definitely won’t based on this one. The characters are legit caricatures of over the top, extreme ends of the spectrum people. There’s no way a grow man, professional hockey player would be afraid of the dentist.

Also, the male narrator was awful and took giant loud breaths before every sentence. Once I heard it I couldn’t stop. I don’t know why this wasn’t edited out.

This book! These characters! I love Ryan so much. Ryan puppy Langley, he 1000% is definitely giving golden retriever energy, so the ‘puppy’ fits so freaking well. We LOVE Emily’s writing. I devoured this book. How she can get me to sit and read over 600 pages and still not feel like it’s enough? I will never now. We love Tess. Tess is one of the strongest characters I think I have ever read. The development between these two is phenomenal. I am seriously so proud of what Emily has managed to do with this series so far and I can not wait to see more come from her. ❤️
