Want to read the Iliad but not ready for the full version? You are going to want to read this one! Rosemary Sutcliff breaks down the story, to an easy to understand version just for kids! Get the full emotion of the story, but at the same time, retains the classic version of the story.

Join Helen of Troy, Paris and Hector as the battle for Troy erupts and then drags on for several years. This amazing retelling will have your children feeling as though they are in the city of Troy or the Greek encampment as they learn about the Fall of Troy!

Loved it! Excellent narrative adaptation of the Iliad for younger readers.

I’m impressed Sutcliff could get the Iliad into a 146 page novel! A quick and concise way to dip your toes into the story.

Easy to understand adaptation of The Iliad. My 7th graders have loved it.

Apparently, the story of the Trojan War wasn't much to tell. This book was dull, violent and confusing. It was a book club book, otherwise I would have never read it.

The kids and I enjoyed this rendition of The Iliad. The kids noted that at times it was "pretty violent" but overall enjoyed the story again.

Me lo lei como lectura obligatoria en el colegio, la verdad es que como fue obligatorio y encima de historia esperaba que me aburriese mucho, pero la realidad es que fue entretenido en algunas partes. Se hace muy pesado. 2,5 estrellas*

Do I have say more than this is read by Robert Glenister? Oh, okay. Sutcliff's young adult/child version of Troy is actually a pretty good combination of the various Troy cycles, though she does not go into the evens after the Fall of Troy. It's actually quite good.

I didn't like all the fighting, but I liked the other parts.

The quality of the writing was good, and it was a good history add on. I just, personally, didn't care for or enjoy the book at all.
