Don't remember much, honestly, but I remember having a blast! And isn't that all that matters? Oh, and it wasn't as good as the first.

Not quite as good as the first one, but I found Lord Blackthorn a lot more enjoyable as a character than I had initially expected!
Also the romance was surprisingly sweet in the end.
A great read if you want something lighthearted with Fae :)

Edit 02/2024: Bumping this up to 5 stars after a year full of reading all kinds of books and finishing a reread of this one. It truly is such a wholesome experience that, despite a few situations, the whole thing truly reads like a whimsical fairytale. And I found it all so funny and cute, I think it does deserve the full score after all. :)

I really liked Lord Blackthorn and Euphemia, and I appreciated the culmination of the plot, but I did not find it nearly as delightful as I found Half a Soul. The beginning and middle lost my interest at times, and the romance was not as well developed as it was in the first book. It was by no means bad, but I could not help comparing it to the first book.

I liked the second one in the series ! Loved the faerie tale context (I have serious dress envy) and also the commentary on class, power and anger.
I look forward to the next one.

Another delightful installment of Regency Faerie Tales, in my opinion, better than the first. This one takes a classic Cinderella fantasy - and takes it into rather unexpected direction

Everybody needs a Lord Blackthorn in their lives - a well meaning disaster of a fairy godfather who will be relentlessly existed about everything you do and are

Also, class consciousness and anger. I really liked how the book handled those, with much more nuance than the first one. The “innocent” cruelty of those in power, the ripple effects of anger pointed in the wrong direction, and how anger is a part of justice. The sheer JOY of the servants finding their righteous, well directed anger at the end
