this book has it all; time-travel, second chance romance, book industry setting, genuine characters, NYC ambiance.

i haven’t read a lot of magical realism in my life, but this one made me want to explore this genre more! the way the apartment slips through time was so interesting. there wasn’t any explanation, but we didn’t need one, we just needed to know when would be the next time iwan would appear when we opened the door.

this book was something else. it wasn’t a revolutionary, but it was perfect nonetheless, in its own way, like a PB&J sandwich is.

if you liked this one and haven’t picked up one italian summer yet, please do it NOW. you’re not gonna be disappointed.

I *really* wanted to fall deeply in love with this after Dead Romantics. And though it was cute, I wasn’t as invested in the normal world outside the magical one.

I still love what Poston is trying to do in this space and even though this wasn’t a home run- I look forward to what she creates next time!
