This was just low-stakes fluff. Pining children who come back together and pretty immediately fall into bed (or sleeping bag). There was a weird mystery subplot and your average misunderstandings and perceived betrayal, but it's a quick and easy read.

MCs are Eloise (4th grade teacher) and Beckett (Wilderness leader / Successful business man)

Did this duet backwards but they are more standalone so it didn’t affect things too much.

SJ Tilly does it again. I adore her books - I want to jump into this universe she created and meet all of these lovely characters.
This story was funny, romantic, had some mystery and action going on - great twists and nothing felt rushed. The main characters were just right - while Beckett was every bit of (sometimes dumb) alpha, he was also a bit of a jerk, but admitted easily to his own flaws. It just made him a very loveable character that wasn’t too perfect and polished. Elouise was great too, funny and sweet, but not a pushover.
Bonus points for the little mentions of her other series - including my main man Nero :)

Kind of silly and over the top.
Didn’t care much for the MMC either.
