Whoa. I was so amazed with how much I loved this book! This book clears up so many misconceptions that the average American holds about Middle Eastern people and their culture. I think that everyone needs to read this book not only for the amazing story, but to also glean a new understanding of a truly remarkable group of people.

I loved the imagery. I was moved by the growth of certain characters, despite struggling to accept Amir’s redemption. I found the story to be sad and beautiful and manipulative in ways I usually enjoy in books about family, friendship, heartbreak, love, loss... So many negative reviews miss the point for me. It’s fiction. The same outrage many had at Hamilton this year when it came out to the world on Disney+ people seen to have about this book: that the scope is too limited and/or inaccurate. It is an artistic interpretation based on life experience and facts. I find Hosseini more credible as an author than Jeanine Cummins with American Dirt, so I don’t equate the two at all.

Watched the movie as a kid but never read the book. So as a 26yr old adult back last year, I picked this up at a thrift store and to my delight it was already annotated by it's previous owner. I hated it and loved every bit of it that I couldn't stop crying. Enjoyed every minute of it. Definitely in my LIFE LIBRARY and top recommends.

I'm in awe of the writing style of Mr. Hosseini. The uniqueness of his writing style lies in his ability to say 3 pages worth of things in just a sentence and how hard hitting his sentence is :")

Nevertheless, like majority of readers of this book, this book left me in tears in many parts, it just made my heart heavy and I don't know what to do now. It's 3:22 in the morning and here I am just rambling on meaningless words. All I would say is, I wish I had enough knowledge in me, because only then I can describe how spectacular this book is. It's so hard hitting and enlightening in so many ways. This book just left me bruised and I don't know how I will get over from it. After reading "A Thousand Splendid Suns" I thought nothing can possibly be more tragic than this. I was so wrong, I couldn't be more wrong.
