The first part of this book was just blankly boring. I didn't like it all that much. Sure, there were a few poems that I loved and I would definitely reread, but the rest were just not interisting. The second part of this book, side B, was absolutely amazing! I loved it so freaking much. In this part, she took the poems from side A en made new shorter poems out of a few words in this book

Theletters behind the cursor are already in the past . That's how fast it all happens. A finite twenty six letters create an infinite trail of breadcrumbs that leads to different moments, that lead to who I was just moment before. I am no longer the person I was just a twinkling ago. The changes are 30 minutes, but they are there. You may think you remain the same person you were. A day ago. An hour ago. A page ago. A line break ago. But you are not.
Let's be honest here! That's just so freaking amazing! If you like this kinda poetry, read this!

Let me start by saying I read A LOT of poetry. And to be honest while I think most of it is good, it all starts to blend into a sea of flowery words after a while, but this collection really stood out to me, for a number of reasons. Cook's voice was so distinct throughout the entire collection, the poems were so simple, yet so profound. The addition of the blackout poetry of her own work is so unique and reflective, and I loved how she used references to music to enhance her poems. I cannot begin to describe my admiration for Alicia Cook's artistry and creativity. The most well-crafted and unique collected I have read in a long time - words that will stay with me for many many years, I am sure.

Most poetry anthologies are hit and miss. I am almost never fully satisfied with all the poems included in them. However, this one had two interesting twists: the first was that each poem was inspired by a song. The second is that side B contained blackout poetry created using the poems on side A, but inspired by different songs. After closing the last page of the book, I find myself with a long list of songs I now want to read and an equally long list of poems I will need to reread.

There was a lot that I liked about this book of poetry - although the style was not my favorite.
I loved that each poem was paired with a song - and that Track two was a deconstruction of Track one.

Too sad and then I forgot about it. Mostly because as an ebook, it’s easy for me to loose track.

Didn’t really like side A but side B took me by surprise, made it 3 stars instead of 2!
