Some essays I loved, some didn’t resonate as much. I do love Emily and send her a lot of that love — she’s been through a lot.

really really enjoyed this!! i went into this not with super low expectations but definitely not with high expectations, and was definitely pleasantly surprised. it is so well written and emily is so self-aware that her reflections are just super insightful. just love a memoir and reading about people’s experiences!!

This was such an insightful read. The book is a memoir of Emily’s experiences as a woman, a model and an actress, and throughout the book there are tons of more generalising quotes and insights to be found about womanhood and the way women are treated in the industry she works in. It was a truly thought-provoking read, and was so eloquently written.

It was interesting to read essays from someone in the industry. I think we all have perceptions of people we see on social media and tv and it clouds our judgment. I can be honest and say that I wasn’t expecting much from these essays but they were interesting to read. It’s also disheartening at times to read about her experiences especially when it came to men.

These essays weren’t mind blowing and they could have been a bit better organized but overall I did enjoy this.
