The art was gorgeous and the story was innovative, but I found it a bit disjointed since the narrative was constructed almost exclusively from direct quotes from RL's letters and writings. Perhaps if I had more of a grounding in her life and work, I would have gotten even more from the book.

This has made me fall in love with Rosa Luxemburg and I can't wait to read more of her stuff! Such a charming way to learn about someone's life and socialism, and in such an accessible way. Sometimes the author would take too many creative liberties when I just wanted more Rosa - time to read her stuff now!

I don't think I was the target audience for this book. The balance between Rosa's life vs her ideas felt off for me. I was hoping for a biography that would delve into her life a bit more, which I got in the beginning, and less into her writings and speeches (which is what the latter half of the book largely showed). That said, I feel like I learned a lot and would recommend it to anyone interested in socialist history.

An undeniably incredible woman, Evans has clearly done her research to tell Luxemburg's inspiring if ultimately tragic story. Not sure that the graphic novel is the best format to tell it in, but it works as a good introduction and primer.
