An inventive approach to memoir. Heti presents a personal history reordered alphabetically, which at times reads like a manifesto, to-do list, rules, and self-help book. The experience is equsl parts fun, upsetting and disorienting. Her life washes over you and leaves you no choice but to make sense of it in retrospect, much like the real thing.
