If you're looking for horror in delicious bite-sized pieces, you absolutely must check out this very digestible collection. There's so much on offer - stories range from horrors rooted in the real world (domestic violence, heroin addiction, climate change) to fantastic creatures (vampires, witches, ghosts). The most unforgettable story for me was a chilling, ultra-short look at police brutality titled Jane Death Theory #13 by Rion Amilcar Scott. Another story I really enjoyed, The Marriage Variations by Monique Laban, was a choose-your-own-adventure format about an abusive marriage. Lastly, Guess by Meg Ellison features a man in a traveling carnival who knows how people's lives end. Guess was a perfectly crafted short scare that will stay with me long after reading.

All in all, this collection was the perfect way to encounter a wide variety of scares and authors. Highly recommend!

As with all anthologies, I liked some stories more than others. As someone who doesn't read horror, I found these stories approachable and some really freaked me out. I could see like a die-hard horror fan being unsatisfied, but these are short bites of stories by design and I think that they accomplish that.
