Solid first issue. In many ways a standard set up for a superhero, but combined with elements as described in the Kickstarter.

One of my biggest worries going into this was the quality of the art. I've started too many comic series where the sub-par art turns me off. Not the case here.

I'm eager to see where the story goes.

BLACK (Volume 1) has an amazing premise:
In a world that already hates and fears them -- what if only Black people had superpowers.
An exciting, interesting idea, and sharp illustrations are let down by over-crowding by characters without much of (or any) introduction, and confusing storytelling. Perhaps the pacing will smooth out in the later volumes.

Super hard to follow, but it seems like the next issue will answer a lot of questions.
