easily the most difficult book i’ve ever consumed!! four stars for now because i need to revisit this in a couple years i think—it’s incredibly dense with information that i just don’t have the knowledge and comprehension skills to fully grasp at the moment. all in all, the people who recommended this to me weren’t lying when they said it’s an incredibly important and foundational read, and i’m excited to come back to this one

Outstanding analysis of the Algerian War, its causes & consequences. Fanon shares tremendous insight into the far-reaching problem of colonization and the sticky web of decolonization. It's clear to me, after reading this book, why Fanon is considered one of the most influential revolutionary thinkers in modern times. Still relevant today.

Good reading for the week of May Day. I'm not the intended audience, but I learned a lot about the Algerian Revolution and see how the ideas here manifest today. Fanon is definitely right about some things. Definitely recommended reading if you are interested in understanding class and colonialism.
