3.5 stars, this was my least favorite in this trilogy. For some reason I really did not like Lia or Adrian in this book.

After the circumstances how the previous book ended I needed answers. I liked that this book was from the past and explained how it all started. I liked the change that for the first time the FMC wanted to run away and live with him. And can’t wait for the last book in the series.

WAY BETTER THAN THE FIRST ONE
This trilogy single handling restored my dwindling will to read again. Never thought I'd be into these books but here I am. The ending had me shook! I knew it was coming but still. I GASPED. She pulled a Bella.

The plot is fantastic and the characterization is great. Adrian really pisses me off and I'm glad Lia isn't delusional about any of it. She sticks up for her agency at almost every chance she can get and it makes for great tension with Adrian. Does this book have way to much sex then I normally read, Yes, and honestly it gets tiring but I'm here for the plot.
Lia slowly loosing her agency and sanity was sad to watch. Seeing her turn into a ghost of herself was painful. I can't wait for Adrian to get a reality check in the next book. Because something gotta give
