Every step of the way, I was completely enthralled. I desperately wanted to get to the end to see how it all finished. This book poses an interesting and complex question and the way it's delivered made me reconsider, back and forth, countless times. LOVED the ending. I think it was done perfectly.
Everything about this book is pressing. The climate breakdown. The violence against women. The view from the brother who is struggling with the system of patriarchy and the damage it does to ALL people.
I absolutely love that we very rarely hear from the killer. He doesn't have a voice in this book and anything we learn of him is second hand but the main characters, the survivors, are treated with such care and respect.
And this is a first book?!? Georgia Harper is instantly going on my I'll-read-anything-you-write list.
Fuck it, it's a 5 star read.
