The single most profound and most harrowing story I have read all year so far. I just finished it, I read the whole thing in a day, and I feel genuinely, physically shaken by it. A really compelling meditation on the concept of revenge, especially in the context of the worst possible crime and worst possible criminal. Every aspect of this novel explores human nature in a breathtakingly brave way and I am left with so much to think about.

This book is heavy and confronting, especially at first, but it grips you in a way you can't pull back from. As a lifelong Brisbane resident I particularly enjoyed the references to specific locations and found this fictional near-future Queensland fascinating to learn about. I'm sitting here, late at night after finishing this book since I couldn't put it down in the final act, just in awe of how beautifully it all comes together. I wish I could meet Hannah in real life. What a fascinating and perfectly written character. I hope Georgia Harper has more ideas up her sleeve.

This was an awesome book from this debut author.   She delved into her characters' minds so well,  using her experience as a psychologist to give insight into how victims of crime think and feel.
